Visiting Arabia
The home of Arabia is in the Arabia region of Helsinki. It is quite extraordinary for an industrial plant so close to the centre of the capital to have remained in the same place since 1873. Even today, thousands of ceramic objects are fired in the long tunnel kilns of the Arabia ceramics factory owned by Fiskars Corporation.
In the same building, on the top floor of the Arabia centre, is a world of ceramic art – the Arabia Art Department Society, the workplace of many award-winning artists well known in Finland. The building also features the Iittala Outlet store, where Arabia products are for sale, as well as the Arabia museum and gallery.
